You are invited to sit on it, use it for contemplation, to rest or to dialogue. With the time it will expose the marks of your tactile exploration. 'The reaction of sweat on aluminium produces a record of chemical process and the passage of time (…) Sitzgelegenheiten, 2025, questions the body as a porous medium of affections. The objects subtly point to a critique of the hedonistic and consumerist culture that pushes us into lives of isolation and emotional poverty, while we seek excesses that fill some part of our enormous existential voids. Sitzgelegenheit 5 (…) speaks of a society obsessed with unrealistic standards of physical perfection, hygiene and fantasy smells. For the sculpture, '(...) pure chunks of material were sliced out of a solid aluminium profile, raw – keeping all industrial traces – and using only original adapters for it to be attached to the concrete remnant dinosour of a public bench from the 60s', the artist states.
