Erddurchstechung CH–ITOasi Monumento Natural Palude di Torre Flavia (Italy) – Emablse El Yeso (Chile), 2019permanent installation, 2 metal poles, each 260cm, fine art inkjet printThank you Mario Iannelli, artq13, Patrocinio del Comune di Cerveteri e Ladispoli and Ximena Moreno, Matucana100 and Goethe Institut Chile.
Erddurchstechung is an idea. It is free from material laws and physical restraints. It has no rule to follow. It can do the impossible. For Erddurchstechung, Felix Kiessling travels to two distant points of the world, each time anchoring a metal pole in the ground. Both poles are angled and precisely calibrated to form one common line and imaginary connection.

For Erddurchstechung (global piercing) Felix Kiessling traveled to two places located precisely on opposite sides of the globe – namely the Rangipo desert in New Zealand and the Parque Nacional de Cabañeros in Spain. At these antipodean points, he vertically anchored a metal pipe in the ground to form one common line. He created an imaginary link between two positions that are furthest apart from each other. "The Vektor cuts right through the interior of the sphere all this is standing on. It‘s piercing through and protruding out on the other side, establishing real connections between 2 places on planet Earth."
